Shipping Policy

At The Tortoise, we are a small family-run business and we aim to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible.

Dispatch

Orders are normally dispatched within 1 working day of being placed.

Orders are sent using Royal Mail 48.

Please note that the dispatch time is the time it takes for us to prepare and hand your order to Royal Mail. Delivery times are controlled by Royal Mail once your parcel has been dispatched.

Delivery

We currently offer shipping within the UK.

Once your order has been dispatched, Royal Mail 48 delivery is normally expected within 2–3 working days, although delivery times can occasionally be longer, particularly during busy periods, bank holidays or other circumstances outside of our control.

Family Holidays and Christmas

As a small family business, we occasionally take short breaks during periods such as Easter, Christmas and New Year.

During these periods, our shop may remain open for orders, but orders will not be dispatched while we are away.

We will clearly display any planned holiday or closure dates on our website where possible. Orders placed during a closure period will be dispatched when we return, in the order they were received.

Delays and Lost Parcels

Once an order has been handed to Royal Mail, delivery is outside of our direct control. Occasionally, parcels may be delayed due to circumstances such as severe weather, postal disruption or increased demand.
