Rufus The Tortoise

Rufus is slow and steady like all Tortoises, he likes the warm and the look of a fire, so his favourite spot is sat straight on the hearth, or as you can see him here, sat on his own bench in the direct line of the fire. However, consider this a treat though, because hard times will make a durable tortoise.

Rufus is very environmentally friendly because he ate 3 plastic bottles, to ensure that they never hit his habitat. He is guaranteed to live to at least 10 years old, and you can register him to ensure this, a bit like giving him his inoculations. 

Rufus is a herbivore, he can hold his breath under water for 10 minutes. If you're interested he's actually a Leopard Tortoise, they are one of the largest breeds (240x100x100mm), they have big feet and like to withdraw into their shell whenever there is danger or no stove to keep them warm.
