The Tortoise Hatchet

Introducing the all new Tortoise Hatchet Axe. 

It is roughly 42cm long and the head measures 17 x 11 x 4.5CM. It has a beech handle, and a carbon steel head. 

The bearded axe design was selected for its style and long cutting blade. This hatchet is all about creating cheap kindling, making lighting your stove faster, easier and cheaper. 
It also has a short splitter at the back for wedging larger pieces of wood apart, but the intended purpose is for kindling. Finally it comes with a rubber seal for covering the blade (when not in use), and has a rope loop too, for hanging it up. 

I use this myself for producing kindling, and it’s wonderful. The biggest issue I have found with other hatchets is the handle is too short and the head too light, to make splitting kindling easy. This solves that issue with a good 16.5 inch handle length and a roughly 1.2kg weight.
